On Mar. 11, Ibaraki Airport Open!
Ibaraki Airport is opened on Mar. 11, 2010 as third airport in Tokyo area. Ibaraki Airport shares the site with Hyakuri Air Base of Self Defense Force as civilian use. Ministry of Land ,as an operating body, has constructed runway mainly used for civilian aircraft on the west side of existent runway and a parking lot and a terminal building has also been equipped.
Ibaraki Airport is also trying to keep cost low (e.g. self-propelled aircraft, consolidating passenger flow line and no boarding bridge) and to make a user-friendly airport such as a free parking lot to invite low-cost carrier which has become widespread in overseas.
